LEAF

For Tony's birthday I got us Saturday tickets to LEAF. It had been a few years since we had been and Bootsy was playing Saturday evening. Tony ended up needing to leave because he had a gig in West Asheville so the girls and I stayed and roamed around until bedtime. T was able to go back to the festival after his gig and catch some Bootsy so all was not lost!

We had some friends camping at the festival for the weekend so hung out with them for awhile at their campsite. The kids ran all around and played together.

The campsite was near an area that had been left open for space to run around and play. It was also a perfect locale for hula hooping; look at Akilah go!

At LEAF there is usually one large children's area but this year they created many small area's scattered throughout the festival. The scattered areas ROCKED because they were much more accessible as we wandered around. (The festival covers a pretty large area and we used to not get to see much of it because leaving the children's area (or our campsite) was oftentimes challenging.)
Even Kaia got into the art area.

Coloring on this paper with these few crayons kept her entertained for quite some time.

Akilah got her face painted!

So lovely!
