This year we wanted to do something extra special (we usually just go out for dinner) so we rented the Knob Cabin at Briar Rose Farm. It was only about 30 miles northwest of our house, near Hot Springs and Spring Creek which was a perfect distance for this HG mama that still is troubled by traveling in a car.

The trail we hiked up that was out the front door of our cabin. (This is Katie, one of the farm dogs.)

Watching leaves fall off the trees and swirl to the ground.
Pipevine Swallowtail Caterpillar (I think...)
I got very tired going up the steep hill so plopped down into the leaves to take in the beauty. Tony continued on up the trail a bit and then we turned around and headed back to the cabin's hot tub.

This is the view down the road from our cabin. It was incredibly private with not another soul in sight.

Stay tuned for Part II!
