España - Day 8 - Adventures in Sevilla

First stop in Sevilla - Modesto (for a most scrumptious lunch!!!)

What kid doesn't love a lunch of eggs and potatoes? (Big kids too; this is one of Tony's favorites.)

Delicious olives and .... (I can't recall but they were scrumptious.)

Yum. Yes indeed.

Yaya and Kaia. (Kaia sure does love those gafas!)
All the oranges were quite delightful. Orange trees were everywhere. Apparently they are not for eating though; they are for marmalade.

First view upon seeing La Giralda.

As you can see, today we drove to Sevilla to spend the next three days touring around. While I'm not necessarily a large city lover, it is rather charming here in the Santa Cruz neighborhood! (And while I was actually in Sevilla eighteen years ago, I can't recall being able to spend so much time in this quaint area of the city.) We are spending the next two nights staying at the Casa Palacio San José. (Quite a spectacular palace full of history; we are fortunate enough to have connections!)

La Giralda and the Cathedral

Akilah looks so tiny!

Akilah had some kind of involved game going on. She thoroughly enjoyed touring the Cathedral and La Giralda!
Yaya and Akilah. Still climbing up!
Looking out one of the windows as we climbed the 32 floors to the top of the Giralda.

And of course our touring isn't complete without a café side trip!

Akilah has been working on this masterpiece; it reminds me of all the gorgeous tile work we see scattered around Spain!

To be continued... (this day was jam packed!!!)
