May Faire

This afternoon was the May Faire Festival organized by all the local Waldorf schools, including the Little Round Schoolhouse.

The weather was VERY un-May-like, more like fall moving into winter. Brrrrrrrrrr. Thankfully the rain held off until after the festivities were over!

Oh the crappy camera...

Garland Dancers

All bundled up watching the performers.

Children from LRS waiting their turn to dance the May Pole. The children had a practice pole at school and had been rehearsing for a few weeks. They were SO excited. Akilah requested to be able to take off her coat for the dance.

Getting all situated!

Yay! Here we go!  "Tirra lirra lirra in the spring orioles and robins sweetly sing...

...from the leafy branches you will hear, tirra lirra lirra, spring is here!" (or something like that... I always sing the wrong words somehow and Akilah corrects me.)

The older grades children from Azalea mountain did a more complicated dance around to end with this lovely pattern. (darn the crappy camera...)
