Armenia - Ashotsk to Yerevan

Today we traveled from Ashotsk to Yerevan! Before leaving we had a few final adventures.

Why did the sheep cross the road?

Storks!

We hiked to this natural mineral spring. Fascinating! And delicious!! And bubbly!

That is Georgia in the distance.

Our cozy room at Artur and Alla's house. Check out the duvet with the big hole in the middle! SO much easier to use. (Gonna switch our entire system to this at home!)

Then we hired another taxi driver to drive us back to Yerevan. Here are some photos from along the drive:

That is Mt. Aragats out the window. I believe we were pulled over because our driver passed someone he knew. Love these folks!

Aragats (taken with the iPod.)

Aragats (taken with the iPod. I kind of like the graininess.)

Yes, this is Jill wearing a seatbelt. It is pretty rare for them to be functional (or present at all); we were excited to discover that this vehicle had belts we could use!

Mt. Aragats. (The highest peak in Armenia.)

Mt. Aragats. (We will climb this with students next year!)

Mt. Ararat.
