Armenia - Margahovit and the Armenian Tree Project EE Center

After leaving Sevan, our final destination was the village of Margahovit. The Armenia Tree Project has recently built an Environmental Education Center and next year we are looking to have our students do some service work there. When meeting with folks from ATP while in Yerevan, we were mistakenly under the impression that Jill and I could stay there. Oooops, not so much. So plans changed! We were able to get a tour of the facility, walk around the village, and then a new taxi driver would take us to Vanadzor.

So here are the photos from Margahovit!

On the drive from Sevan to Margahovit we stopped at a little store for random lunchy items. I hadn't tried tan (an Armenian yogurt drink) yet, so here it is. Yum!

The front of the center. (We took many photos so our students would be able to see the facility and plan their lessons accordingly. They will be teaching EE lessons to various children from the surrounding areas. Although the center is incredibly impressive, I will spare you the details of every floor of the inside.)
