Today we rode (still with our same fabulous taxi driver) from Vayk to the northern part of Armenia. This post is dedicated to the segment from Vayk to Lake Sevan.

| Lake Sevan - one of the world's largest freshwater high-altitude lakes. It is also the largest lake in the Caucasus region and in Armenia. |

Sevanavank - this monastery is on a peninsula in the northwestern part of the lake. It actually used to be on an island... We were here on a Sunday and there was a mass going on inside. We were able to peek inside but it was really crowded. I believe this might be the most visited monastery in the country. Fun fact - Armenia was the first country in the world to declare itself a Christian nation.
